Kicking off the Clay tournament

After a long morning of traveling, and a full day of preparing,  the Miami team of Ava Fox-Rosellini and Leandra Lopez are ready for round 1 at the University of Kentucky tournament.
Round 1 we're going against Georgia's top team on the negative. Then we'll be breaking our new Aff against Cornell round 2. It's going to be a long, but memorable weekend.

Team returns from GSU motivated for next outing

After a long weekend of debating, the University of Miami team returned home from the Georgia State University tournament. The team has high hopes for the rest of the season and is looking forward to their next outing at the University of Kentucky.

Both teams are 2 - 2 after Day 1

Both teams finished the first day of competition with big wins. Robert and Tristan finished the day with wins over Michigan State and the University of Florida. While the team of Alicia & Adaeze had a big win over interstate rival University of South Florida.

Prepping for Round 1

The team arrived in Atlanta safely, and is hard at work. With round one of the tournament season only hours away, the team is practicing speeches and getting in some last minute research time.

Policy debate still going strong

As a whole, policy debate is maintaining strong participation according to a recent op-ed written by Alfred "Tuna" Snider, Lawrence Professor of Forensics at the University of Vermont.

The UM team has certainly noticed this trend with the surge in novice debaters joining the team this year.

GSU only hours away!

With the Georgia State tournament only hours away, the debate team has been hard at work on putting the finishing touches to their new affirmative case. The newly constructed plan is the brainchild of Tristan and he is excited to see how it fares against the rigorous District 6 competition.
